Understanding: Love is that which draws me into an intimacy with the person with whom I so willingly choose to open up myself. It gives me the courage to face my vulnerability in front of this person. Love serves as the guiding force that makes life so meaningful and that which makes our world very colorful. I understand that the love that I have towards myself and the people around me depends so much from the experiences of my formative years. My capacity to love is acquired , and therefore I can do my utmost capacity to be able to love deeply and intimately those who are around me and those I choose to love for the rest of my life.
Description: Love is not only the sparks, the thrill, the excitement that I feel in front of the beloved. It is more than that. I know that I am in love when I can free myself from the bondage of my selfishness and be able to embrace with utmost happiness the reality of the presence of this being that I love. Love inspires my day to day activity and allows me to look forward to what will happen next. When I am in love, I am open to surprises, to new things as though my world has change and I can see more fully the beauty of the world. In love, I realize that indeed existence is so great and wonderful.
Definition: Love, therefore, is my freely chosen act to reach beyond my horizon the beloved that is at first outside the sphere of my world. It seeks to give growth to the beloved as well as to the growth of the lover. It is not only a feeling but it is freely chosen and willed.
