GOD GAVE YOU TO ME

God gave you to me to warm my world, which, for many years, has been like an endless stretch of desert sand wrapped in cold gray winter cloak.  You came bringing with you snowflakes during summer, rainbows during autumn, roses during winter, and falling leaves during spring.  You made me see the enchantment of everyday existence, and the magic of falling in love.

God gave you to me to show me a different path, away from the usual worn-out but easy road of blind acceptance and tragic sorrow. You made me see the path of genuine communication, the freedom to be my own person, and the excitement to love from the heart and from the soul.

God gave you to me so I will know there is no distance when one loves. Real distance can occur in physical nearness while deep intimacy can be found between two people separated by seas, mountains, plains and valleys. With you I learned that real intimacy is an attachment of two souls, two minds, and two hearts.

God gave you to me so I will feel the surge of passions, the sweetness of desire, and the ache of longing.  With you there is no fantasy—only possible reality.  I don’t have to pretend, suppress and repress the tenderness of physical love.

God gave you to me so I will know that love is patient, that love has no short cuts, and that love is best expressed in honesty and trust. With you, love is not a theory but a building upon of shared confidences, secrets, longings, dreams, and goals.

God gave you to me because you are what I need for my growth and fuller awakening. You are the answer to the deeper needs of my mind, my heart, my soul, and my body. Everything in you and about you compliments my self in so many ways that sometimes I need to pinch myself to know that you are not a dream.

God gave you to me because you love me deeply and honestly without conditions. I can only blossom in a kind of love that only you can give.  With you, I can be myself—be the best and be the worst— and still be loved and accepted by you.

God gave you to me because He knows that you are the best possible gift I could ever have in this lifetime.  So on your birthday, I give you also the best possible gift that is humanly possible— a love that knows no bounds, a love that is forever, from me to you.  I love you sweetheart.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARLING!
