AN ANNIVERSARY MESSAGE

TO MY SOULMATE

Prelude  

    A great love may come along our way unexpectedly in our lifetime.  At times we think we have found our great love only to be dismayed and hurt afterwards. Sometimes it doesn't come along at all. Blessed are those who can find their one great true love for there is no greater miracle than meeting somebody who makes your world a miniature heaven.  There is no greater happiness than in having someone who nurtures your mind, heart, body and soul. A great love makes you see rainbows when there is none, makes you feel warm in the midst of winter, and makes you look forward to seeing another dawn.  I know all these because I have found my one great love in this lifetime.  This poem is dedicated to my one great love, on the occasion of our  Love Anniversary. 

Grateful For Your Love

Thank you  for coming into my life 

and for planting the seeds of  hope and 

love a year ago.

Thank you for helping me overcome

the pain in my past and for showing me

a new untrodden path.

Thank you for accepting me wholly and 

fully--age, size, height, color, and all.

Thank you for the lovely letters and the

 beautiful cards you send each day, 

including of course the erotic stories 

every now and then  

that always leave me 

breathless with desire,

turning me into a quivering

 soul afterwards.  

Thank you for the inspiration you provide

 in my life that help create some sparks of 

poems and articles here and there.

Thank you for the innumerable phone calls 

and voicemails that  always excite,

make me happy and 

make me nostalgic afterwards.

Thank you for believing in me,

for trusting me, for being honest with me,

and for loving me deeply and sincerely,

despite the distance.

Thank you for being yourself and for being

my true friend, lover, and soulmate.

And sweetheart, thank you for the lovely 

yellow and red roses you sent me today. 

I can never thank you enough for

 everything that you have given me, shared

 with me, and offered me.

You have afforded me a whole new world

where love is enough reason  to dream,

to hope, to plan, and to work for.

You have shown me the path of love,

of tenderness, and of kindness.

You have returned to me my true self

simply by loving me unconditionally.

And so on our First Love Anniversary

I renew once more my love for you,

firm in the certainty that 

I will always love you, 

just you, and only you, 

for the rest of my life,

believing in our capacity 

to create a path

so that one day we will be 

together at last!
